Scott O’Brien, Esq.

Scott has been licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia since 2006.  He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Regent University in 2006 and his Bachelor of Arts degree from James Madison University in 2003.   Mr. O’Brien has been employed with Conrod & Company Law Firm, P.C. since graduating from law school and being admitted to practice before the Virginia Bar in 2006.

Board Secretary

Scott O’Brien has 15 years of experience in the legal services industry as a licensed attorney in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  He is also serving on the initial Board of Directors of the Human Trafficking Justice & Freedom International (HTJFI) non-profit organization as a Director and as the organization’s Secretary.

Scott brings experience to the Board due to his years assisting start up non-profit organizations with establishing their initial Boards, drafting initial non-profit governing documents and assisting in the filing applications for 501 (c)(3) status as well as regulatory compliance.  During his work as an attorney, Scott has become aware of the Human Trafficking issue and the need to provide legal services to human trafficking survivors who otherwise would not be able to afford competent legal counsel on account of lack of financial resources.  His work with many of his clients has highlighted the need, which HTJFI will meet, of many legal practitioners to gain understanding to identify those clients who are human trafficking survivors and the need to serve their various legal needs.  In his role as Director Scott aims to be an ambassador to the legal community, both to educate practitioners and also to encourage practitioners to donate their time and skills in providing legal services to those survivors of human trafficking who are in need of such services.
