Co-founder & President
Patrick J McKenna is one of the co-founders and president of Human Trafficking Justice & Freedom International (HTJFI). In his role, Mr. McKenna is tasked with increasing the legal partnerships and resources, both locally and abroad, to address the legal needs of trafficking survivors beyond criminal defense.

Kathryn Jeffries
Co-Founder & Treasurer
Kathryn Jeffries has demonstrated extraordinary management and leadership skills, as evidenced by accomplishing organizational growth for organizations that served youth and families in crisis for over 25 years. Kathy is experienced in working with many survivors of Human Sex Trafficking.

Scott K. O’Brien Esq.
Director & Secretary
Scott O’Brien has 15 years of experience in the legal services industry as a licensed attorney in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He is also serving on the initial Board of Directors of the Human Trafficking Justice & Freedom International (HTJFI) non-profit organization as a Director and as the organization’s Secretary

Dr. Sherita Parks
Board Memeber
Dr, Sherita Parks, serves on the Board of Directors for Human Trafficking Freedom and Justice International. Sherita’s primary desire and calling is to serve leaders and organizations who serve and seek restorative justice for the marginalized, abused, and underserved, seeing their humanity and partnering with them to thrive and help others in their communities.

Melissa Woodward Emerson
Survivor & Board Member
Melissa has been an abolitionist and activist since 2007 and has worked closely with U.S. Congressman Van Taylor and U.S. Senator John Cornyn, who shared Melissa's story on the Senate floor. In addition, she worked with President Barrack Obama and US Senate to create National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. Melissa serves on the board to share her experience, strength, and hope.
